School Council

At Power Glen Public School, we believe that parents as well as family members are important and make a real difference to children's learning. When parents and family members are involved. children do better and achieve more. School Council allows everyone involved in school life - parents, family members, learners, teachers, school staff and the wider community to work together to support the school. It also allows all parents and family members to have a say in their children's education by affording the opportunity to express their views and ideas.

To inquire about becoming a member of our school council or to leave a message for one of our executive members, please call Power Glen Public School at (905) 684-7429, or send us an email.

A Message from Our School Council:

We invite you to join the School Council @ PG. There is no greater example for your student than to volunteer your time (regardless of how much) at Power Glen. By showing your commitment to their school and working together to enable greater things to happen, we are all providing the students at Power Glen the best chance at success.

WHO can join: Parents and Guardians always welcome to join the Parent Council (also known as Parent Involvement Council or School Advisory Committee). It’s free! The only cost is a few hours of your time over the school year.

WHEN are meetings? Meetings are held throughout the school year, typically on the last Tuesday of the month in the Power Glen School library from 6PM to 7:30PM. Babysitting can be arranged at no cost.

WHAT exactly does the School Parent Council do? Working with school administration, we help make our school a better place. We provide a forum for parent discussion on important topics that matter to us and our children. Insight is provided to the school curriculum and parents have a chance to make important decisions about where fundraising monies are allocated.

There are several opportunities throughout the school year for all to have a chance to get involved.

We look forward to seeing all of you!
